The Cobh-Ploermel Twinning Association takes another step forward next Saturday, 13th July when a group of 40 from the Ploermel Association arrive in Cobh. This is the 29th year of the Twinning and the eighth visit from Ploermel. The theme of the week is twofold – Irish-French monastic connections and the food industry.
In keeping with those themes there will be visits to view the Book of Kells in TCD, visits to Lismore and Cashel, to Gougane Barra and Bantry. On the Thursday there will be a seminar in Spike Island on the themes of the week. Sunday 14th , being the French National Day, there will be a celebration at The Paddocks with a Pig-roast, Music and Dancing. It should be a good week of fun and conviviality and renewal of old acquaintances.
