Sirius Arts Centre is delighted to announce a special fundraising lunchtime concert with five promising Irish musicians who are currently pursuing their studies in colleges in Ireland, the United Kingdom and mainland Europe. Individually, they are all awarding-winning students and have achieved considerable success in their chosen instruments. Collectively, they are known as the Hydra Quintet. This group comprises of Sophie Creaner (Clarinet), Brendan Garde (Violin), Eoin Ducrot (Violin), Ed Creedon (Viola) and Aoife Burke (Cello).
They will perform the sublime Clarinet Quintet by Brahms. This piece was immediately recognised as a remarkable work, and a century later, it still has the power to claim the hearts and minds of players and audiences. The performance will take place on Wednesday 29th July at 1 p.m. in Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh. All proceeds will go towards the Sirius Arts Centre.
