The Anti Austerity Alliance has selected Ciara Leonardi Roche to represent it in the Cork East constituency at the next General Election.

Ciara Leonardi Roche is the youngest candidate to have been selected so far in the State to contest the next General Election. She turned 22 earlier this month.

Ciara lives in Cobh, is a mother of one, and joined the AAA after getting involved in the anti-water charges movement late last year.

After her selection she said: “As a young person I see the need for a challenge to the old politics which has run this country for far too long. It is time for change. We need change to end the water charges, change to end austerity and a change to the old ways of doing things.”

Ciara is the third candidate selected by the AAA to contest Cork constituencies alongside Rose Leadbetter (Cork South Central) and Cllr Mick Barry (Cork North Central).
