U13 PREMIER: Midleton 2-1 Springfield Ramblers
This was a well contested local derby from start to finish. Springfield were very well organized in defence to limit this strong Midleton side to long range efforts. Midleton got a fortunate 1st goal and a superb 2nd goal. Springfield rallied to get a goal back from Harry Danaj and the Midleton keeper made a great save late on. Best on day Rory pierce Sean Cummins and Bailey Frahill.

U13 DIVISION 6: Lakewood Athletic B 4-6 Springfield Ramblers A

U15 PREMIER: Macroom 1-5 Springfield Ramblers
Another great result today for the under 15 team with a 5 – 1 away win against Macroom. A great start to the game saw us go 1 ahead after 3mins with Dara O’Connell getting the first after a great move down the right with Eoin Kelly providing the cross.
On 13 minutes we found ourselves 2 nil up after another fantastic passing move starting with left back Sam McSweeney, who played it through to Mikey Foley knocking the ball though midfield where Nathan O’Connell put Eoin Kelly once again in behind the Macroom defence. Eoin crossed first time with Nathan finishing the move into the corner of the net giving the Macroom keeper no chance. The 3rd goal came after 17mins again after another very well worked passing move Nathan O’Connell got his second with the aid of a deflection from a Macroom defender.
As the half moved on we started to let our tempo drop and this allowed Macroom to score a soft goal with only 2 minutes of the half to go.
After half time the lads increased the tempo again and totally dominated from here on in. Mikey Foley scored the 4th goal 5mins after the restart from a free kick.

Emanuel O Neal came on the left of midfield for Diarmuid Kearney and Emeka Asigeabu coming into the centre midfield with Nathan O’Connell moving up front for Lewis Whelan. Both Diarmuid and Lewis had contributed to the lead that we held at this point and both had more to give when they came back on with 15minutes to go Lewis for Dara O’Connell and Diarmuid switching to Right midfield for Eoin Kelly. The fifth goal was also scored by Mikey Foley and both Mikey and Nathan were very unlucky not to get a hat-trick on the day. They were both denied by some fine saves from the Macroom keeper who despite the score line had a very good game. In fact he made a fantastic save to deny left full back Sam McSweeny tipping Sam’s shot onto the post and away.
Again the work rate and desire to win throughout the entire panel was great to see. Best on the day were Eoin Kelly, Dara O’Connell & Sam McSweeny.

U15 DIVISION 4: Watergrasshill United 1-2 Springfield Ramblers B
Springfield ramblers came back from 1 nil down and played a fantastic game with a solid defensive line. Gerard Devlin with the 2 goals and great game from Cian Donnachie, Killian O Connell, Sam Bourke, Callan Cummins, Alex O Mahony and Ray Keating. Superb performance from Niall Moynihan (MOTM)

Under 18 Youth League: Youghal United 1-4 Springfield Ramblers
After a slow start going one down, Youghal were thoroughly outplayed by a rejuvenated Springfield Ramblers. Calvin Murphy zipped through a pocket of defenders to unleash a contender for goal of the season shortly before half time to level matters. The hairdryer treatment delivered by Tony Gerisoli at half time set the tone for the second period with the Rams utterly dominant for the final 45 minutes. Clearly galvanised in to action, Murphy broke in to the box and battered a stunning strike to the roof of the net for his second of the game. Further strikes from Conor Hughes and the impressive Jack McCarthy sealed a comfortable victory. Excellent performances on the day from Michael Walsh, Jack McCarthy and man of the match Johnny Gardiner.

U12 PREMIER: Lakewood Athletic 4-1 Springfield Ramblers
Best display of the season with excellent displays Jae Kinsella, Adam Doran, Adam Lynch, and man of the match Cormac Brennan. Goal scored by Danny O Driscoll

U14 DIVISION 1: Lakewood Athletic 5-3 Springfield Ramblers
A good performance by the team today and the boys were unlucky to lose. Lakewood took a couple more of their chances than us but we created plenty. Thanks to Harry Denaj u13 for coming along as back up. Some very good football played by the team.

U15 DIVISION 3: Springfield Ramblers A 3-1 Bandon
Springer’s started the game at a high tempo and took the game to Bandon from the start. They took the lead through the goal machine Brian Danaj after some great football from Jamie Kelly. They deserved more goals only for the Bandon keeper pulling off some fantastic saves. Bandon didn’t really threaten Springer’s but got back in the game after some slack defending from the home side. The second half started as the first half did with the Cobh side forcing all the play with Shane Kelsall outstanding in defence with some well-timed tackles. Ryhs Wellham in midfield was all over the pitch and was a thorn in the Bandon side all day. With about ten minutes to go Springers got a free kick just inside the Bandon half nearly out on the touchline and up stepped Colin Lane to hit a wonder strike straight into the Bandon net giving the keeper no chance. Brian Danaj finished the scoring with his 5th goal in four games after some great work by Luke Hamilton. Rhys Wellham was the outstanding player on the day for the home side.

U16 DIVISION 1: Springfield Ramblers 2-1 Riverstown
A dominant performance from Cobh with goals by Jamie Gilmartin & Luqman Abubaker.

Umbro U17 FAI cup : Springfield Ramblers 4-2 Richmond
By right the score line should have been much bigger in favour of Springers. All in all a comfortable performance and with better finishing the game should have been wrapped up at half time. Goal scorers Odhran Kidney Power 3 and Jamie Hamilton 1. Man of the match Cian Roche who didn’t put a foot wrong at full back.
