2ND CHANCE BUSINESS SKILLS PROGRAMME

Published

on

SECAD will deliver a 2nd Chance Business Skills Programme for people who have previously run their own business and are considering self-employment again and

are looking for ways to improve their business skills this time around.

Now that green shoots are starting to show again in the Irish economy, and within the building sector in particular, SECAD is offering support and training
to repeat entrepreneurs who would like to try again. Research has shown that businesses set up by repeat entrepreneurs grow faster than first timers in
terms of turnover and jobs created and approximately one fifth of all successful business people did not succeed the first time round.

In order to succeed this second time around, it will be important to analyse what went wrong and work out what better management approach to use this time.
The programme will cover testing viability and what’s involved in running a business Topics covered will include basic bookkeeping, pricing, tax, sourcing
finance, registering your business, employing staff, etc. You will also learn how to plan for the future. Additional individual mentoring will be provided
to each participant.

The programme will be delivered in SECAD’s offices in Midleton. There will be 5 full-day sessions, over 5 weeks running from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm starting on
4th November and finishing on 2nd December.

Places on the course are free but must be pre-booked.
