Sirius Arts Centre: Music Residency Programme 2018

Published

on

In 2017 Sirius Arts Centre launched a new international residency programme specifically for composers and musicians. Sirius has been developing its Artist in Residence programme since 1994. The programme receives some funding from the Arts Council and Cork County Council and is well recognised internationally. The residency programme is designed to offer artists the opportunity to write, research and develop their practices and to engage in dialogue with Sirius, other organisations in Cork and the surrounding community.

Residents stay in a beautiful, two/three-bedroomed basement apartment in the Sirius Arts Centre’s building, located on the waterfront in the centre of Cobh, twenty minutes by train from Cork City. The residency will provide a residential and work area to artists, either as individuals or groups. Please note – Sirius does not provide recording facilities or sound equipment. An upright piano is available. Applicants from outside of Ireland are strongly encouraged.

Submissions for 2018 are now open and will close on 23rd June 2017 at 5pm. Please visit our website http://www.siriusartscentre.ie music-residencies for details on how to apply.
