Active Connections Brings Inclusive Adventure to East Cork with New ‘Embers Camp’ at Cuskinny, Cobh

Active Connections is excited to bring its Embers Camp to East Cork, opening a new site at the scenic Cuskinny Activity Centre in Cobh. The programme offers outdoor adventure and 1-to-1 support for young people with additional needs, including physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and neurodiverse conditions like autism.
Since 2019, Embers Camp has helped over 150 young people build confidence and connect with nature. Each participant is paired with a dedicated support worker, ensuring activities are safe, inclusive, and tailored to individual needs.
“Opening our first East Cork location at Cuskinny is a moment we’ve been working toward for a long time,” said Ray Burke, CEO of Active Connections. “By bringing Embers to Cobh, we’re giving families local access to high-quality, nature-based support that celebrates every child’s unique abilities.”
The Cuskinny camp joins a network of Embers Camps across Ireland, with locations in Wexford, Carlow, Waterford, Kilkenny, Tipperary, and summer sessions in Dublin.
