Cobh Garda Station receive OPW Energy Saving Award

On the 9th of October 2025, Thomas O Connor, a Senior Energy Consultant, presented an Energy Saving award to the Energy Team of Cobh Garda Station.
Thomas O Connor was appointed as being Cobh Garda Station’s OPW Energy Advisor since 2019, helping to promote the ‘Optimising Power @ Work’ energy conservation campaign.
The Benchmark year against which the buildings Energy Performance is measured is 2011.
In 2025 Cobh Garda Station Hall has managed to surpass the milestone of a 20% Energy Reduction.
These savings reflect the diligence and hard work of the Energy Team on site.
They have been achieved by increasing energy awareness, lowering energy intensity, and energy efficient upgrades.
