COBH RAMBLERS CLUB STATEMENT: Covid-19 related Match Guidelines and Streaming Intentions

Covid-19 related Match Guidelines and Streaming Intentions
Cobh Ramblers wish to clarify the club’s position regarding attendance at our upcoming League of Ireland fixtures, in lieu of the recent government announcement advising that only 200 people can be present at any outdoor gathering. A major factor in this number is that it includes the players and staff from both teams. This leaves us working with an even lower number than the 200 already advised.
We must also account for Club Officials from both Home and Away sides, media officials and our own match-day staff.
Therefore, it has been decided that only Cobh Ramblers Season Ticket Holders will be afforded the opportunity to enter to watch the game. There will be no general sale of tickets, and walk-ins on the day of any sort will not be accepted. Season Ticket Holders have been contacted by the club privately and have been advised of the terms and conditions for attending games. To ensure that all of our fans have the opportunity to see our home matches, the club have teamed up with local service Relivvit who will be live streaming all of our home games for the remainder of the season. Season ticket holders will be given free access to all of these streamed matches and other fans may avail of it at a cost of €5 per game. This extra financial support will aid the club with increased requirements due to Covid-19 and will prove to be a crucial revenue generation stream for the club in the short term.
The stream will be available to purchase from our club shop www.cobhramblersshop.com in the week leading up to each home game. For the upcoming Galway United game on August 8th, we are delighted to announce that the match commentary will be brought to you by the renowned commentator and presenter Trevor Welch of Virgin Media Television and of our media partners Cork’s 96fm.
Thank you to Paul Geasley of Relivvit and also to Trevor for their help in getting the streaming process up and running for the return to play. This is truly a huge step forward for the club and their assistance is greatly appreciated. Finally, please note that the situation regarding fan numbers will be reviewed by the club ona week to week basis and should the country progress to Phase 4 then we will of course look into getting more fans in the door, if it is viewed as being safe to do so.
Thank you for your continued support. Stay safe.
