Cobh Tidy Towns Waste Minimisation Tip
The reduction of waste is an important element of the National Tidy Towns competition. Each week Cobh Tidy Towns will publish a tip to help people to reduce waste. This will help Cobh on its way to becoming Ireland’s Tidiest Town.
There has never been a better time to overhaul your home, tidy out the garage and recycle all of those unwanted electrical products. WEEE Ireland, The Irish compliance scheme for Electrical and Battery recycling, helps to make recycling old electrical junk lying around your house very easy, as they offer numerous collection and drop off points around the country. For Cobh the Civic Amenity centre in Rossmore Carrigtwohill is the closest. WEEE Ireland will also be at the Five Foot Way car park on Sat 4th Feb. 2012 between 10 AM and 4PM. Any household item that requires a plug or battery to function and is at the end of its life is considered waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and should be recycled. Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), includes everything from old fridges and washing machines to remote controls, TVs, electric toothbrushes, hair straightners , batteries
