Exciting times for Cobh Confratermity Band

It is well known that our band is one of the busiest bands in the country.
Now that there is a short break in our performance s, we take this opportunity to let our friends and supporters know about the exciting events coming up.
Cobh Band has been bringing other bands to the town for many years. This continues again in 2026 with the return of Nenagh Ormond Brass Band to Cobh following their great performance last year.
The present Nenagh Ormond Brass Band was founded in 1977 but has its origins going right back to the late 1800’s. They are actively involved in Community Life of their own home town and will be most welcome visitors to Cobh.
The band will play on Cobh Bandstand on Saturday September 5th at 2.30pm and will perform jointly with Cobh Band at 4pm.
Baldur Brass Band from Denmark will visit Cobh in the first week of September and will perform on the Bandstand in Kennedy Park Cobh at 7.15PM on Tuesday 8th of September. The Cobh Band will perform beforehand at 6.45pm.
“All Brass ” ensembles were first established in Denmark during the 1950’s following an earlier visit of the Rugby Salvation Army Band from the UK to the country in 1947. Native musicians were impressed by this new “all Brass” Band sound. Baldur Band is an example of one of these combinations .It has a full programme of events in its own country and has a very high standard of musicianship in its ranks.
Both these bands are welcome to our town and hopefully the townspeople will come out to support them.
