Inistioge Choir to Sing in Cobh

The members of the Inistioge Parish Choir are excited to be travelling to Cobh to sing Mass in St Colman’s Cathedral.
“Each year we are blessed to be invited to sing in another church” said choir director Philip Hardy. “And this year we are so looking forward to our visit to Cobh Cathedral!” he added
There are 24 members to the choir and 22 will be travelling the distance. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to have a day out and see other churches and choirs”, added member Eddie Keher. The group will sing the Vigil Mass on Saturday 25 May followed by dinner in the Carrigaline Court Hotel where they will be staying; and then on Sunday they will explore the region before heading back to Kilkenny.
The trip has been made possible through the support and assistance of Director of Music Dominic Finn. “I am so looking forward to playing on the magnificent organ in St Colman’s”, says church organist and pianist Emily Quirke, “the cathedral has such history surrounding it as does this magnificent organ – excited!”.
Other members on the trip to Cobh include Aisling Cottrell, Kate Creed, Nora Codd, Gillian Connolly, Becky Doyle, Pauline Doyle, Siobhan Kavanagh, Una Kavanagh, Catherine Keher, Kay Keher, Avril Lenehan, Miriam Long, Paul Martin, Mary Martin, Eileen O’Brien, Sandra Proctor, Francesca Watkin, and Joe Wolf.
All are working on a special programme which includes Panis Angelicus by César Franck/Sylvester Wager and Schubert’s Sanctus for the Vigil Mass before the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity.
