With a fleet of 16 buses, Irish owned and operated, Cobh Connect will continue to provide luxury low-cost travel seven days a week to the more than 14,000 adults and children living in Cobh. Established to eliminate isolation and close the physical gap for those living in the Cork City suburb of Cobh, these modern 57-seater coaches boast Wi-Fi, charging points and air-condition as standard, and will now be offering up to 60 services a day, seven days a week. Cobh Connect has also introduced a new weekday early morning service to this already busy route.
Starting at 05.45am Monday to Friday and 07.45am at the weekend, buses will run every 30 minutes, with the last bus of the evening leaving Cobh at 20:45, and departing the City for the return journey at 21:45. To cater to the party animals amongst us the last bus will depart for Cobh at 0:15 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Bank Holiday Sundays.
Thanks to the team at Cobh Connect, traveling in comfort and style doesn’t come with a hefty price tag. With back-to-school and college just around the corner, Cobh Connect is introducing a 50% discount for young adult and student Leap Card holders. An adult traveling the entire route can do so for as little €2.30 with a 10 Journey Leap Card Ticket and children under three travel for free. Further emphasising their commitment to connectivity, passengers can tap-and-pay on board using their smartphone or bank card. This progressive bus provider has also launched a new mobile app that allows passengers to track their bus in real-time, making missing a bus a thing of the past.
Speaking with excitement about the Route 200 upgrades, Cobh Connect’s Company Director, Wayne Morrison, commented, “As travel specialists, it is our job to provide the public with viable transport solutions. We have experienced firsthand the impact that our Cobh Connect – Route 200 has had on the people of Cobh and tourists wishing to visit this historic town. Over the last 7 years since we launched this route, it has connected the people of Cobh to Cork City, expanding education, employment and shopping opportunities in both areas. The positive local feedback has been overwhelming and it has inspired us to do more.”
“Due to the demand from our regular passengers, we have increased the frequency of this route and made it easier for people to travel and plan their journey with the introduction of tap-and-pay, and our real-time tracking app. I understand how hard back to school and college can be on families and young people, so we wanted to take this opportunity to spread some joy by offering a 50% discount for young adult and student Leap Card holders. We are excited to welcome back familiar faces, as well as some new ones, as we head into a busy Autumn season.“
