Elinor O’Donovan The Immeasurable Grief of the Prawn Elinor O’Donovan’s practice spans film, sculpture, digital collage, and installation. O’Donovan playfully explores questions about knowledge, memory, and truth, looking at how stories inform worldviews. The film The Immeasurable Grief of the Prawn imagines the character of an omniscient prawn to discuss themes of ecology, ethics and consumption through the lens of the relationship between humans and more-than-human entities. Sarah Long W/w Sarah Long’s practice spans painting, performance and writing. Long examines the influence of Irish history and literature on both our cultural memory and collective perspective of space, with the notion of landscape allowing her to engage with the Mother Ireland figure and reflect on suppressed feminine archetypes. The performance W/w addresses the position of women in the Irish constitution. The narrative follows Mary, an autofictional character – an aspiring artist and writer – in conflict with the world around her. |
