Galway Utd 1-4 Cobh Ramblers
A young Cobh Ramblers team did themselves and the Club proud on Sunday as they beat Galway Utd 4-1 away. With goals from Jonathon Spillan (2) and one-apiece from Jamie Murphy and Eoin O’Riordan, Ramblers now move three points clear of UCD at the top of the A Championship Group 2 table, although the Rams have played one game more. Currently sitting top on nine points, Ramblers seem to be motoring this year, considering that they now, only after four games played, have three points more than they accumulated for the entire 2009 season. It certainly appears so far anyway that Manager Dave Hill has his side playing they type of football that wins games and he and his coaching staff deserve credit where it’s due. If Ramblers are to get back into the League Of Ireland proper then this form needs to continue throughout the campaign in order to reach a play-off place and the posibility of returning to the First division for the 2011 season. Next opponents for Ramblers are Limerick FC, who travel to St.Colman’s Park on saturday 3rd July for a 7.45pm kick-off.
