MUNSTER AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY THANKS CORK FOR A SPECIAL SHOW

Farmlife shared with thousands of people from all over Munster at Cork Summer Show
Despite mixed weather over the weekend, this year’s Cork Summer Show was once again a very special event in Munster. Sponsored by Cork County Council, the Cork Summer Show is the largest show in the region and has been running for over 200 years. This year’s highlights included helicopter rides, drone racing, stick-making and floral art, the Taste Cork artisan food marquee and hundreds of trade stands from gardening to retail.
Crowds came from all over the county, but also from locations all over the country to participate in the national competitions across cattle, goats, poultry and horse breeding. Families enjoyed the variety of competitions, festival atmosphere with music and entertainment, as well as cookery demonstrations, Pet Dog shows, gardening, machinery and motoring, and over 250 retail stands and a large artisan producers market.
“This year’s Cork Summer Show has been a tremendous success, despite mixed weather. The show is a real family favourite and with such fantastic entertainment, fun, food and farming, it is a really great event to attend for every age. We were delighted to share the best of Ireland’s agricultural heritage with the large crowds that came this year, and we would like to pay particular thanks to the working committees of the Munster Agricultural society and the hundreds of volunteers that make this show a success every year,” said Robert Harkin, Munster Agricultural Society Chairman and Cork Summer Show organiser.
With another successful show under their belts in 2019, the organisers have already set a date for Cork Summer Show 2020, which will take place on 20 & 21 June 2020 at the Munster Showgrounds.
