It was a result that we’ve waited for a long long time, so well done to the Springfield Ramblers U12 Premier side for getting their fist league win of the season this afternoon against Leeds who before the game were sitting eleven points above them. With only three games remaining this team are full of passion, footballing skill and strength.
In my own book there was no one special outstanding player today as every single one of them played their hearts out to gain the three points. A total team effort. Goals from Colin Henderson (Hendo) and Jamie Mahony (Hippo) and a last minute spectacular save from Cormac Brennan, secured the win for the local lads to the extreme relief of the parents cheering on the sideline. We thought we’d see the ‘Mexican Wave’ after the final whistle but the ringleader, Susan, was too horase to instigate the celebration.
This side have had so much bad luck throughout the season by being beating by last minute goals that they deserve sooooo much credit for their performance this afternoon. They’ve improved so much over the last few games and I’ve no doubt we’ll be hearing an awful lot more about this very talented team next season. An excellent all around team performance. You should all be proud of yourselves. Well done.
