Springfield FC got their season off to a flying start with a tremendous 9-2 win against Bohemians. Other results also saw Springfield ‘A’ thrash Richmond 5-0 in the first round of the Munster Junior Cup with goals from Connor Haws, Connie Murphy, Kyle Downing, Shane McDermot and Paul Stanton. Next game up for the ‘A’ side is away to Killreen in the league on Sunday 2nd October.
Out of the first six games of the season the Springfield ‘B’ team find themselves joint top of their league table having won four, drawn one and lost one. Next fixture for the ‘B’ side is against Ballincollig in the last sixteen of the Saxone Cup on Sundat 2nd October at 10.45am
