I would like to welcome the news today from the Minister for Education Batt O Keeffe that he has given the go-ahead to Rushbrooke National School in Cobh for the construction of a new school. For many years the fight has gone for a new school, due the current over dependence on prefabs. Situated in a very heavily populated area the construction of new school will guarantee there will be adequate space for the children to go to school in their own area.
Great praise must go to every parent involved in the campaign, this demonstrates what can be achieved when every one works together to achieve their goal.
Cllr. John Mulvihill
