For many years, Christmas concerts at the Sirius Arts Centre have become part and parcel of the lead up to Christmas, and this year is no different. Having performed all over Ireland this year, as well as in America, the Sirius Arts Centre have invited Darragh McGann to perform what he has called “A Golden Christmas” series of concerts covering many seasonal favourites as well as the unveiling of part of his new show called “A Tribute to Matt Monro”. Matt Monro, who was described by Frank Sinatra as having a Golden Voice, has been a huge inspiration to Darragh, and earlier in September, the Cobh native travelled to London to meet Matt’s daughter Michele and son Matt jnr, at the launch of a new biography of their late father. During that encounter, Darragh spoke with them of his love for their Dad’s music and how he would like to pay tribute to him. Now, that dream is set to become a reality as Darragh will cover many well loved Monro songs during the Sirius concerts while also performing many well loved Christmas classics.
Tickets for the concerts which will take place on Saturday December 17th and Sunday December 18th that will also include a Mulled Wine and Mince Pie Reception are now available from the Sirius Arts Centre, priced at € 15. Early booking is advised by calling 021 4813790
