A very good performance last week resulting in a seven goal win over Galway Utd at St.Colman’s Park. Daniel santry scored the first after only four minutes. Galway got a corner and when ramblers cleared the ball, Jason Abbott ran at the Galway defence and released the overlapping full back Paul Ronan whose first time cross was met by striker josh Murphy , it was one of the best worked goals seen in Colman’s park this year.
Goalkeeper Shane Hallahan and defenders Eoin Hastings, Derek Keaney, Brendan frahil and Paul Ronan were superb at the back for Ramblers and that allowed midfielders Jason Dunphy, David Curran, Kevin Mullane and Jason Abbott to take advantage and open up Galway all day long. Strikers Daniel Santry and Josh Murphy really should of scored more goals but after scoring five in the previous home match against Carlow the Cobh management couldn’t find reason to complain too much. Twelve goals in the last two home games is some achievement by any teams standard.
Goals for the afternoon were shared by Josh Murphy 2, Daniel Santry, Derek Keaney, Brendan Frahil, Jason Dunphy, and Dave Curran. This team is going from strength to strength under the management of Niall Abbott, Mossy Mahoney and Frank Collins. Only four games to go in the league Ramblers are only a point behind Limerick. Next fixture they are away to Athlone town, and will head off at eight in the morning for the four and a half hour drive.
