Tidy towns had a busy positive week this week. Iron work was painted around the graves at the Old Church Cemetery. The hill to Cuskinny was widened with a clean up operation involving 2 shovels,a brush and 3 volunteers. A fence was erected and painted thus replacing an eyesore beside the Tidy Towns 2011 award sign on the approach road to Cobh. Thanks to Darren,Jim,Hendrick and Ronan for their hard work here.
During the week we received an invite to travel to the National Awards in Dublin on the 10th September. We area delighted with this and look forward to the results. Whatever the outcome we can hold our heads high and celebrate the efforts of our Tidy towns volunteers, the businesses in Cobh, the Council workers, the schoolchildren, the clubs, the youths and the residents of Cobh who have all contributed to our beautiful town.
