The 2013 Cobh St. Patrick’s Day Parade promises to rival the spectacular 2012 event with a very high number of entries. It will take place on Sunday March 17th starting on the Low Road by Cobh Heritage Centre at 3.30 pm. Groups walking in the Parade are asked to assemble on the Deep Water Quay, while vehicles taking part will be assembled on the Low Road and need to access the road from the Whitepoint end only. The Parade will pass the reviewing stand at the Lusitania Peace Memorial and will end at the Old Town Hall. Vehicles must continue along Harbour Row to avoid congestion. A designated area for spectators in wheelchairs will be available next to the Reviewing Stand.
Cobh Tourism, See You in Cobh and Cobh Tidy Towns have again join forces to organise the Cobh St. Patrick’s Day Parade and are inviting all participants in the Cobh Parade and the General Public coming to view it to embrace the theme “The Gathering of The Green”.
Additional car parking will be available at Cobh Community Centre and in the playground of St. Mary’s School. Further stewards are still needed to ensure the smooth and safe running of the Parade. Anyone who would like to volunteer should please contact Ursula Duffy on 085 1668271.
