The organising committee of the ‘Great Island 10 Mile Road Race’ would like to take this opportunity to advise the people of Cobh and the Great Island of some likely disruption to traffic this coming Sunday April 13th between 10.00am – 1.00pm approximately. This race is being arranged for the benefit of the Irish Cancer Society, with special emphasis on palliative care.
The organisers are working closely with Cobh Town Council and Cobh Guards to ensure that the event will be arranged as safely as possible and every effort will be made to minimise any inconvenience to the general public. We would ask people to be patient for the duration of the race and to cooperate with stewards.
We would also like to welcome our very special guest Sonia O’ Sullivan, who will be joining the runners on route for this great cause.
The 5km Run / Walk will leave the Community Centre @ 10.00am and the 10 Mile Road Race will start at 10.30am from just before Coral Leisure. They will both finish outside the G.P.O. Thank you all for your continued support!!
