Not to be missed-Information Night for Parents/Guardians of 5th./6th. class pupil.
Carrignafoy Community College are pleased to invite parents/guardians of 5th./6th. Class pupils to a presentation on the transition to post-primary school. The presentation will be held on Thursday 25th. September at 7.00pm.
We are delighted to have Aileen Fitzgerald as guest presenter to deal with the many and varied concerns that parents and indeed pupils have at this critical time of the year. Issues such as adjustment and change will be addressed in addition to exploring the best options going forward. Carrignafoy CC are delighted to have 70 % participation in 3rd. Level last year and continue to afford all pupils the opportunity to develop as well balanced and confident young people. Aileen has been working in the areas of counselling and education all through her career, having begun her professional career as a secondary school teacher and guidance counsellor.
She continues to work in training and supporting school principals, counsellors, guidance counsellors and parents as well as having a private counselling practice in Cork city. She has a special interest in young people’s emotional and mental health, having worked for many years with the Department of Education and Science Support Services in Social, Personal and Health Education. Aileen Fitzgerald has over the years delivered workshops for parents and worked with staff and S.P.H.E. teachers on policy and group facilitation skills. We look forward to meeting all who have an interest in this presentation on the 25th. at 7.00pm.
