Each year the Cobh and Harbour Chamber dinner affords members the opportunity to hear the perspectives of dynamic and experienced contributors. This year will undoubtedly be another highlight in that great tradition as Guest of Honour for the Chamber Dinner, to be held on Friday 21st May 2010 in the Commodore Hotel Cobh, Co. Cork, will be Senator David Norris.
President, Michael Martin said he was delighted that Senator Norris had accepted the invitation to attend as the keynote speaker. “David Norris is a politician of immense experience. He is a member of the Trinity College Dublin University Panel in Seanad Eireann since 1987 and a founding member of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs. In addition to this he is one of Ireland’s leading Joycean scholars, was Founding Chairman of the James Joyce Centre, the North Great Georges Street Preservation Society and Friends of the Library (longest serving Chairman) Trinity College Dublin. His main areas of concern are national and international human and civil rights, equality issues for gay and lesbian people and conservation of Dublin architectural history.
The colourful eloquence and the deep sense of humanitarian responsibility that Senator Norris is renowned for, will enhance the experience of all those who hear it. Cobh & Harbour Chamber is priveleged to welcome this man to the town.
The Annual Dinner is one of the highlights of the Chamber calendar of events. It is a high profile occasion that features the ConocoPhillips Business of Year Award and an address by an eminent speaker.
