After a successful 2016 Festival, the annual Readers and Writers Festival will be back from 1-7 May, 2017, with its unique mix of readings, discussion, comedy, theatre, cinema, book stalls and chat. Highlights of the festival include a screening of Frank O’Connor’s ‘An Only Child’ filmed in Cobh in 1973 (Tues. Commodore Hotel).Some of the activities taking place in Cobh Library throughout the week are, writing and publishing workshops, book launches, readings as well as a photographic exhibition (Cobh Camera Club). John Spillane will be playing in the Marquee (Promenade) on Friday evening and on Saturday there will be an afternoon of puppetry and short theatre plays in the Sirius Arts Cntr.from the Haulbowline Theatre Group.
