Following on from our previous highly successful Exhibitions, Cork Harbour Islands Project (C.H.I.P.) would like to announce the Official Opening of our 2017 Exhibition ‘ The Way We Were – Queenstown/Cobh in 1917‘ in Cobh Maritime Exhibition Building at Cobh Railway Station (many thanks to Cobh Maritime Development Company for the use of the Centre). The Exhibition will open on Saturday, 30th September at 2pm and will run for approximately 6 weeks.
We would be delighted if as many as possible could attend the Ceremony which will be performed by Conor Nelligan, Heritage Officer, Cork County Council. This year’s Exhibition will focus on local, national and international events in the year 1917 following on from one of the most important events in Irish history – The Easter Rising 1916 and a world still entrenched in World War 1 and will feature many interesting insights into life as it was 100 years ago.
