2018 is well and truly upon us and at Rushbrooke Rowing Club, this is an exciting year ahead as we have been chosen to host the 2018 Inaugural Irish Coastal Rowing Championships at the National Rowing Centre, Farran Woods, Ovens, Cork.
Rowing is a fantastic sport to be involved in, with a focus on teamwork, it is a fantastic way to stay active and socialise. Coastal Rowing is a sport for all ages, with categories from Under 12’s to over 55’s, so you are never too old to start!
From January until April it is preseason for our rowers, we spend time on the water every Sunday morning, this is a great time to learn the sport and enjoy the social element also. Throughout the summer months, on the water training sessions increase with Championship Regatta’s taking place on Sundays.
We have competitive rowers in the club who compete in the CRA Championships, Cork County Championship Finals and the season finale of the Irish Coastal Rowing Championships every year. We also appreciate that people may not want to row competitively, we actively encourage anyone to come down and row for the sheer enjoyment of the sport.
If you would like to try out rowing with Rushbrooke Rowing Club, do not hesitate to pop down to the strand on a Sunday morning, contact us on 083 8733770, or find us on Facebook, Twitter or our website rushbrookerc.ie.
