Celebrate the dazzling autumn colours at Fota House and join us our Squirrel Trail for all the family this October Bank Holiday weekend: Sat 27th to Mon 29th, 10am -3.40pm.
The Fota island red squirrels are busy getting ready for the winter and are carefully storing their nuts in the Gardens. Our native red squirrels love to play hide and seek so we need your help to find them before they go to sleep for the winter. Little ones will love scurrying round the Arboretum, spotting the squirrels and learning all about the trees they like best. This is a fun self-guided trail for all the family.
Once you’ve found all the squirrels and solved the clues you can come back to the House to get your treat!
Bakestone café will be open for the weekend, serving their usual delicious treats – creamy hot chocolates, wonderful cakes and soups to warm you up after your ramble!
Bonus point for spying an ACTUAL, live squirrel!
€4 per child, adults go free! No need to pre-book. Thank you – your ticket helps keep Fota open for everyone to enjoy, and goes directly to the continued conservation and restoration of the property.
