Fota Island Resort has the solution with a range of specially designed packages for everyone from absolute beginners to couples or ladies looking to lift their game to a new level.
Combat screen-time for your little ones, with 12 month memberships available for boys and girls from 6-12 years old, including weekly lessons during school term, and additional summer and mid-term camps ideal for getting them out in the fresh air and keeping them active. With on-course competitions designed to introduce young golfers to the game, the 12 month Junior Golf package is available for €600 per child excluding clubs, or €850 for the Prodigy Package which includes a set of Ping golf clubs. Junior golf packages also include an introduction to TPI fitness, the golf-specific health, fitness and swing advice from Titleist Performance Institute created to emphasise the importance of the individual’s body and how it relates to the most efficient swing. Golfing from a young age is fundamental in youth development, teaching lifelong skills such as patience, confidence, and socialising. Plus, most importantly, it’s fun!
Eager to get involved in the action? The kids aren’t the only ones that can join in. A 12 month membership designed to introduce couples or a parent and child to the game for the first time is also available. With 10 one-hour golf lessons that cover everything from rules to swing, putting and etiquette it’s an excellent way to learn a new skill together and spend that much needed bonding time together too. The Introduction to Golf for Couples/Parent & Child also includes use of the Academy facilities as well as the Barryscourt 9 holes after the first 7 lessons have been completed. The cost per pair is €1,300 per year.
Fota Island Resort will For those committed to spending more time together there is a Parent & Child information day on Sunday, 3rd February with slots at 10am and 2pm. The Parent & Child membership at Fota Island Golf Club is available to any family member wishing to learn something new with the child in their life – so whether that’s granny & grandchild, big sister and little brother or uncle & niece, Fota Island Resort is the place to celebrate all those special bonds in family life.
