Cry Before Dawn, one of Ireland’s best-loved bands, will play the stunning seaside venue of Sea Church, Ballycotton on September 16th, the band’s only Cork gig this season.
The band first formed over 40 years ago in 1982, and their fusion of guitar driven rock with traditional Irish pipes have created a sound that’s stood the test of time. Best known for hits such as ‘Gone Forever,’ ‘Witness for the World,’ and ‘The Seed that’s been Sown,’ the Wexford outfit has two Double Platinum selling albums to their name as well as prestigious national awards.
The band has toured extensively over the decades and have had an exceptionally busy summer, playing at the likes of All Together Now in Waterford, The Forever Young Festival in Kildare, and the Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre in Kilkenny.
John Kidney, General Manager of Sea Church, says the band always leave crowds wanting more: “Cry Before Dawn are a brilliant live act who really know how to entertain audiences and we’re sure that they’ll be a big hit at Sea Church later this month. 2023 saw them release their first new material in over 10 years so the gig in Ballycotton will be a great blend of old classics and fresh new tunes. We’re delighted to include Cry Before Dawn in our busy calendar of events this Autumn.”
It’s a very busy September for Sea Church with a host of gigs lined up; globally renowned singer / songwriter Brian Kennedy will take to the stage at the unique venue on September 23rd, while the hugely successful Ballycotton Comedy Festival returns on September 29th and 30th, with the likes of Dave McSavage, Ross Browne and Kyla Cobler topping the bill.
