A concert
by

featuring the Quiet Club.
Friday 3rd Sept. 8:00pm.
at the
National Sculpture Factory
(Albert Road, Cork)
The National Sculpture Factory and the Sirius Arts Centre are delighted to present a very special, one-night only, evening performance by renowned experimental Swiss musician Charlotte Hug on the Factory Floor on Fri 3rd September, 8:00pm.
Charlotte Hug is a composer, musician (viola & voice, electronic), media artist and visual artist. She is known for her solo performances in distinctive locations such as the ice tunnels of the Rhone glacier; the half demolished bunker in Berlin Humboldthain; the House of Detention, a 250 year old former prison in Farringdon in London; the hot healing sulphur springs beneath the former luxury hotel of Verenahof in Baden, Switzerland and in the Irish Atlantic in the docklands of Cobh, Cork.
Hug’s instrumental techniques push the limits of improvisational performance through her ‘soft bow technique’ allowing her to play up to 8 voices on her instrument at a time. She plays a viola made by J.G Thir in 1763 and by layering voice and electronica creates an unmistakable and distinct tonal language.
