UPDATED 13.04pm
Cove Cabs are open for business but people should ring in advance as it is slow driving, anyone who is driving themselves should do so with extreme caution espeically in the estates but norwood hill is okay to drive on and the main roads in town are also okay to drive on slowly. Cove Cabs telephone number is 4812299
Most roads main roads appear to have been gritted over night.
Roads notifications we’ve received so far are as follows:
Bellvelly Bridge IS open
Back road from Londis, down past the Links, past Carrigaloe and IFI to Fota is a small bit tricky but if you limit speed to about 35-40 KPH then you should be grand. Main roads into City are fine. Roads do appear to have been gritted. Take it handy though eh!
Cuskinny hill, Ballymore and Corbally not safe for driving conditions are very bad!!
The following estates are particularily bad and extreme caution should be taken: Leeview Court, Rushbrooke Links, College Manor (both sides) Coolamber, Also people should be very careful when walking as a lot of the foothpaths a very slippy, outside Dr. Morhans is bad. the footpaths in town centre are ok to walk on!
The Grotto at Bayview is noted as being extremely bad but once you get onto the main road, it’s ok to drive!
