Announcing the 8th BARRACK HILL BALL RUN in aid of Cobh Youth Services and Epilepsy Ireland

Cobh residents are once again invited to get the ball rolling for charity in this year’s Barrack Hill Ball Run taking place on Monday, August 4th. At 4pm, Barrack Hill or as its fondly termed, the ‘Deck of Cards’, will once again be transformed into a carnival of colour as thousands of numbered balls race their way downhill to raise much needed funds for Cobh Youth Services and Epilepsy Ireland.

For just €2 per ball, participants are in with a chance to win cash prizes while participating in one of Cobh’s most exhilarating events of the summer. The first four balls over the finish line will win €100, €200, €300 and the grand prize of €500. The afternoon of family fun kicks off at 3:30pm with some music, including Cobh’s very own The Voice Finalist, Jamie Stanton, kindly sponsored by the pubs in Casement Square. There’s also the UP THE HILL TEAM CHALLENGE for those fit and brave enough to pit their ball-rolling skills against each other to conquer Cobh’s steepest hill.

Since its inception, the Barrack Hill Ball Run has raised over €70,000 for various charities. For the first time this year, Cobh Youth Services (CYS) joins Epilepsy Ireland as beneficiary. CYS Programme Co-Ordinator, Sinead Morgan says: “We’re delighted to be part of this special day. The demand for our after school support services for children, teens and young adults continue to grow and funds raised through this event will help us greatly to further develop our youth programmes for Cobh.”

Tickets to sponsor a ball can be purchased on the day or before at any participating retail outlet in Cobh.
