Thurs 19th of May saw the club bring a very large presence to the Cheetah Run held in Fota Wildlife Park.

Stand out performances on the day came from Pau Mora (5:43), Adam Hastings (5:51) and Maggie Sillett (6:31) in the Juvenile’s Mile Race, with Pau running superbly to secure a 3rd place finish.

Of our Seniors contingent competing in the 5k event, Brendan Ryan (18:53) ran a fantastic race to place 12th in a field of 800 plus athletes.

The Kilcredan 5k was held on Fri 20th of May and amongst the Ballymore Cobh athletes competing on this evening, Shane Meyler ran a fine race to cross the line in a very respectable time of 19:08.
His season’s target is a sub 19 minute 5k, so stay tuned to see if he can hit it!

Our east Cork neighbouring town of Youghal played host to the Emer Casey 10k on Sun 22nd of May.
Fergal Quinlan was the pick of the bunch for us as he eased himself into a 3rd place category finish averaging very tidy 6:25 minute miles throughout.

The Ballyandreen 5 Mile Race on Thurs 26th of May was held in beautiful summer running conditions among the rolling, (and one seriously daunting), hills of this countryside townland.
The afformentioned hill being commonly referred to as The Beast of Ballyandreen!
Step forward one Orla “The Beast Tamer” O’Rourke who, not to be phased, put in a powerful performance of athleticism to cross the finish line in an excellent time of 34:09 and a magnificent 1st place category finish.

There’s plenty more races to come over the next few months, so, if you’re new to running or wish to get involved, why not come along to one of them and see what it’s all about?
Even better, come along to one of our training sessions as advertised on our Facebook page and introduce yourself, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
All levels of runners are catered for.
