Catalyst Cobh February Event Focuses on Finance and Funding

Catalyst Cobh a networking group for women in business held the group’s first event of 2015 at The Commodore Hotel on Wednesday, 4th February.
The meeting started off with two 1 minute soap boxes delivered by DeirdreMackessy of Robin Hill Sanctuary and Sandra O’Shea of Trade Winds Bar andRestaurant.
The event, which was sponsored by Bank of Ireland, Cobh, brought togetherfour guest speakers from three member companies, Dave Collins of CrescoAccountants, Ray Keane and Anna Murphy from Bank of Ireland, and MichelleHardwick of Release Peace.
Dave delivered a very informative presentation on funding and alternativesources of finance covering topics such as Micro finance Ireland and therange of supports available from the Local Enterprise Boards and EnterpriseIreland for new and established businesses.
Ray and Anna teamed up to speak about the free personal and businessfinancial advisory services now available in the Cobh branch and encouraged any new or established business to come in and speak with themconfidentially. The branch will also hold a mortgage information day onSaturday 21st February.
A Q & A session was held after the presentations and members were also ableto avail of the opportunity to have a private one-to-one conversation on any personal or business finance issues. Presentations from the evening are available to all members.
The final speaker on the night was Michelle Hardwick of Release Peace. Originally from Wales, Michelle moved to Cobh in 2013 having lived in China and New Zealand for a number of years. A trained hypnotist, NLP and EFT practitioner, she led the group in a guided relaxation session that will re-energise and relieve stress at home or at work.

Catalyst Cobh hosts 6 events each year including training and workshops, exhibitions and social events.
