Christmas comes to Cobh at 4th Annual Catalyst Fashion Event

Catlayst Cobh logo 2014Catalyst Cobh, a voluntary group run by women for women in business, held an evening of fashion and informal networking in Cobh Heritage Centre on Wednesday 19th November. The evening marked the groups 4th Annual Christmas Fashion Event and featured business from Cobh, Midleton, Cork and Ballincollig.

The event started with a raffle in aid of the Sonia O’Sullivan statute fund and featured prizes donated by Pets Plus, The Quays Bar and Restaurant, Gilberts Restaurant, Trade Winds, Commodore Hotel, La Beaute, Ryans’ Bar, Christys Irish Stores, Brands Direct and Barbara Hall Creations.

MC for the night was Cobh’s own Fashion Guru Claire Cullinane and Professional makeovers of 3 well known Cobh business women followed the raffle. Michelle Hardwick, Sarah Iremonger and Sandra O’Shea were transformed with hair by Sarah O’Flynn of Signature Hair Salon, make-up by Beauty Chambers and clothes from Christys Irish Stores at the Heritage Centre, and Silk Peaches, Ballincollig with styling from Claire Cullinane.

Members, guests and the public were then treated to a fashion show featuring clothes and accessories from member business The Keen House, Keen on Sport, Silk Peaches, Christys Stores, Scarletts, Brands Direct, Monreal, the Princess Rooms and Barbara Hall Creations.

More than 20 business displayed products were available from member businesses including Beauty Chambers, hair by Sarah O’Flynn, Fota House, Michelle Hardwick, Cobh Harbour Chamber, Cobh Past Times, Pets Plus, Individuals, Cobh Pharmacy, Robin Hill Clinic, Stella + Dot, Barbara Hall Creations, Truly Scrumptious caterers, Titanic Trail, Silk Peaches, Tregan and Brands Direct.

Kathleen Geary, Chairperson of Catalyst stated “We were delighted with the support we received for our event this year. It is wonderful to see so many staunch members still with us four years on and that our membership continues to grow year on year. The array of fabulous local products on display tonight shows that Cobh has so much to offer not just at Christmas but right though the year”. In closing she thanked Claire Cullinane who acted as MC for the Fashion Show, the Models, those who donated prizes and stated that without the enormous hard work of the voluntary committee of Catalyst Cobh the event would not be possible.
