Singletons get ready to mingle on night with a unique twist – passengers must bring a friend of the opposite sex

Cork Harbour Cruises is throwing the struggling singletons of Ireland something of a lifeline with the launch of our first-ever singles night.

That’s right, we’re taking the lonely hearts club on the high seas with all personality types – from the shy and retiring to the braggadocious and bombastic – invited to climb aboard the love boat in the hope of landing the perfect catch.

While a subsequent lifetime of intimacy and fulfilling partnerships can’t be guaranteed, a sizeable crowd of potential suitors certainly can with all attendees required to bring a single friend of the opposite sex. This twist is unique to our singles night as it virtually guarantees a 50-50 gender balance on board.

The event is split over two nights to increase the potential for successful match-making. The first takes place on Friday, June 24, and will cater for those aged 20-40 inclusive, while the second is on Saturday, June 25, and is for those in the 40-60-plus age group. So, whether you’re a novice in matters of the heart or a seasoned operator, there’s likely to be someone there for you.

Our sponsors, 3 Sq. Miles Irish Coastal Gin, from the spectacular offshore Gaeltacht island of Cape Clear in West Cork, will be providing the conversational lubrication on the night. All passengers will be treated to a complimentary Saltytale cocktail on arrival. It is our signature creation, with aromas of salt and citrus forming the type of heady brew capable of transforming the night from nautical to naughty at a rate of knots.

If the sea air does not prove a perfect aphrodisiac, don’t despair. The night won’t end on the return to the dock, with Cork City’s ownCrawford and Co restaurant providing a barbecue at its Anglesea Street premises for those whose hunger for love may, on second thought, just be regular hunger.

The pleasure cruise lasts for two and a half hours and sets sail from Custom House Quay in Cork City. Tickets €80 for two people. Our complimentary Saltytale cocktail and Crawford and Co barbecue are both included in the price.

Cork Harbour Cruises’ Singles Night promises to be an entertaining event in a unique setting for Ireland’s available and unattached. So, if you want to cast your net wide to find out exactly the calibre of fish left in the sea, visit www.corkharbourcruises.com to book your place on board.
