Last weekend saw the inaugural Cobh Classic Car Show, held this year to coincide with Titanic 100 commemorations. Most of the cars on display over the two days were from the Titanic era. The display of the old cars at Westbourne place made a beautiful and fitting dedication to those lost in the Titanic disaster.
On Saturday we were also joined by a fine steam engine at Casement Square. We would like to thank O’Shea & Sons Coals for supplying the huge amount of coal needed to run the engine for the day. The show would not have been possible without the help of our many sponsors including our main sponsor, Kevin O’Leary Group, Silversprings.
We would like to thank Cobh Gardai, Cobh Town Council and Titanic 100 for their help with the smooth running of the show. The drivers of the cars were taken in by the beauty of Cobh when they were treated to a tour of the Island. All said they are looking forward to a return visit in 2013.
Keep an eye out on June 17th & 18th, when Cobh Classic Car Club will be welcoming 100, Ford Model T’s from all over the world to Cobh for a spectacular display of motoring history. The Model T’s date from 1908 to 1927.
