MEDAL PRESENTATIONS AT COBH GAA
It was a night of celebration on Friday December 5th in the Cobh GAA Pavilion as the U/12‘s, U/13’s and U/15’s collected their medals. A much deserved reward for these trojan young men in what could only be described as an epic season of both hurling and football. All eyes were on Corks Christopher Joyce who was there on the night to present the deserving teams their silverware. First to take to the stage were the U12’s Football team who won the Central 3 Football Final beating Douglas under the excellent guidance of their coach Nick O’Callaghan. Next up was the U15’s who won the East B Football League Final against Kiltha Óg with Captain Sean Meade and coach Liam Leahy at the helm along with the help of Brendan Kearney, Paul Murphy and Stephen Meaney. Last but by no means least were the U13 lads who won the Premier 2 Hurling County Final. In what can only be described as typhoon weather the lads showed great will and determination and battled on through the wind and rain to steal the title of “County Final Winners” from a very wet and disappointed Newtownshandrum. Coaches John Kidney, Richard Meaney and Pat Looney couldn’t be prouder.
After the medals were presented Christopher Joyce wished all teams a warm congratulations and spoke of the great commitment shown by both players, coaches and parents. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves! Here’s hoping next season will be just as successful for Cobh GAA . Follow us onTwitter or Facebook for all the latest on Cobh GAA.
