Teenage Street Blitz

Cobh GAA is organising a Friday evening Gaelic Football Street Blitz for teenage boys born in 1997, 1998 and 1999 on 3 Friday evenings in June (14th,21st, and 28th). The blitz will commence at 7:30 each Friday. Interested players will need to be in attendance from 7:15 as team format and selection, pitch dimensions etc. will all need to be quickly finalised in order for the blitz to commence promptly. We will aim to finish the
blitz by 9pm each night. Games will be organised on a 7, 9 or 11 a side basis, with the exact format and pitch dimensions decided on the night, depending upon numbers attending. As school terms come to a close its an opportunity for teenagers to meet locally, and participate in GAA sport, on an organised basis. It’s also good opportunity for those who want to give Gaelic football a try, to become involved.

Emphasis will be on participation, with a number of short games each Friday evening. As State exams finish we expect to be able to extend the age groups, and include events for older teenagers. Gum shields are required for all Gaelic football activity, and they will be required for participation in these blitzes. For those that need them, gum shields are available in shops locally, and will need to be fitted/adjusted in advance.

Location : Watertower Pitch
Time : Register 7:15
Game Time 7:30 – 9:00

We will also be encouraging any interested parents to become involved each night (by helping with player registration, and pitch and team organisation). For more information on the blitz, or to become involved please contact Kevin (087-224 9828) or Willie (087-678 0470)
