Cobh People’s Regatta Programme – 17th – 19th August 2012

Friday 17th August 

6-30pm     Local Band perform on Main Stage
7-45pm    
Regatta Dancers and Sinead Sheppard’s School of Dance, Cobh Youth Services and other Local Talent take to the Main Stage.

9-00pm     Official Opening of the Regatta.

9-15pm     Parade of Queen Contestants, from the Commodore Hotel to Main Stage followed by an interview with Dr Micheal Martin on stage. (Festival Queens Sponsored by Supermacs)

10-00pm   Live music on Main Stage with Karl Long & son Shean.

11-00pm   Festival Club in the Commodore Hotel till late with Club C, and the Rolling Stones Tribute Band Playing in the Jack Doyle Room.

Saturday 18th August

1-45pm     Firing of First Gun to start Dinghy Sailing.

2-30pm     Fancy Dress Parade Starts, Leaving the Well House and going to the Promenade, where
there is lot’s  of Activities inc Bouncy Castles, Clowns, Face Painters

Fancy Dress  8 to 7 yrs,
Fancy Dress  8 to 12yrs,
Mini Queen 8 to 12 yrs
Pretty Princess 4 to 7 yrs
Handsome Prince 4 to 7 yrs
Mini King 8 to 12 yrs

3-00pm    Rowing Starts at Pier Head.

6-00pm    Tug of War.

7-00pm   Spotlight on Local Talent. A must for all the family.

9-00pm    Performing on Main Stage The Kieran Kramer Band, Playing all your favourite hits.

11-00pm   Festival Club in the Commodore Hotel till late with Club C and ABBA Elite playing in the Doyle Room.

Sunday 19th August.

1-30pm     Firing of First Gun to start Cruiser Sailing.

1-30pm     Stone Skimming Competition starts at Kennedy Pier. (Ages from 6 to 14 yrs)

3-00pm     Children’s Crab Fishing Competition starts in the Promenade.

3-00pm     Live on Main Stage Cobh’s Own Big Band.

3-30pm   The  Story of the Rubbish Monster, A Hugely Entertaining and Engaging Piece of Puppet Theatre at Club C in the Commodore Hotel. (Sponsored by Cobh Tidy Towns and Cork County Council)

4-30pm     Children’s Art Competition starts in the Promenade.

4-30pm     Classic Yacht Sail By at the Pier Head.

4-30pm    
Vintage Car Display at Pier Head, (Cobh Classic Car Club)

6-00pm     Presentation of Sailing Prizes. At Trade Winds Restaurant.

6-45pm     Cobh Fisherman’s Trawler Race.

6-45pm     Live on  Main Stage Dirty Secret.

8-00pm     Grand Draw Sponsored by Brittany Ferries Cork.

8-15pm     Announcement of Regatta Queen 2012.

9-00pm     Live on Main Stage Deuces Wild is sure to please everybody.

10-00pm   Spectacular Fireworks Display.

10-30pm   Deuces Wild will finish of the evening on Main Stage.

11-00pm   Festival Club in the Commodore Hotel with Club C and The Kings of Leon Tribute Band playing in the Jack Doyle Room.

 

Children’s Activities on Saturday 18th August 

Fancy Dress Parade Starts at 2-30pm, Leaving the Well House and going to the Promenade where there will be lots of activities including,

Fancy Dress Competition ages 3 to 7 yrs.

Fancy Dress Competition ages 8 to 12 yrs.

Pretty Princess Competition ages 4 to 7 yrs.

Handsome Prince ages 4 to 7 yrs.

Mini King Competition 8 to 12 yrs.

Entry to all of the above is Free, However all children Must be accompanied by an adult.

Children’s Activities on Sunday 19th August 2012.

Children’s Stone Skimming  Competition  Starts at 1-30pm, at the rear of Aunt Nellie’s Sweet Shop,
Entry is Free, However all children entering the competition must be accompanied by an adult.

Children’s Crab Fishing Competition  Starts at 3-00pm,Entry is Free , Crab Fishing Line, Bait, and bucket  are supplied on a first come first served basis, No Fishing Rods or Hooks will be allowed.
And all children must be accompanied by an adult.

3.30pm – The Story of the Rubbish Monster, (A Hugely Entertaining and Engaging piece of Puppet – Theatre,
in Club C in the Commodore Hotel. Sponsored by Cork County Council and Cobh Tidy Towns

Children’s Art Competition / Path Colouring Competition Starts at 4-30pm, Entry is Free, Art Supplies will be supplies on a First come first served basis, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
