Cobh Pirates Notes 12th Dec
The Junior 1s put Thurles to the sword, Junior 2s have tough day at the office….
The first team put 39 points on Thurles in this important home game, John Barry Murphy and Eamon Ronan crossed the line twice each while John Kidney also touched down, the rest of the points courtesy of Eamons boot. The center partnership of Murphy and Ronan had a good day out, with plenty of quality ball being supplied. Liam Greany, yet again was outstsanding in this the first series of back to back wins in a long time. This moves the team to mid table.
In the morning fixture the very young second side played a well drilled and experienced Dolphin team, with Mark Reidy getting a try and Ian “Jonesy” converting, along with a penalty to get 10 points, against 39 for the visitors. A break now for Christmas for these sides is much welcomed, allowing for injuries etc to heal before the leagues re-commence in the new year.
Congratulations to Eoin Chandler on winning the 2nd in the series of the Presidents draw.
Cobh Pirates would like to wish all their players, members and friends a peaceful and happy Christmas, and all the best in the New Year, and look forward to seeing all in the clubhouse over the festive period.
