Cobh Ramblers u19’s are just one win away from winning the Southern Section of the League of Ireland after a terrific 9-0 win against Carlow last weekend.. Paul Ronan with two goals and one from Daniel Santry had Ramblers going in three up at half time. Goal difference comes into play in the league so the management of Niall Abbott, Mossy Mahoney and Frank Collins told the players to push on in the second half and put away as many as possible.
The team came out in a very attacking formation after the break, knocking six past the Carlow keeper in the second forty five minutes. Daniel Santry, Alan O Flynn[2], Loyd Spillane, Cillian Tallon and Kevin Mullane all scored brilliant goals. This team have really did themselves and the town of Cobh proud, travelling throughout Ireland and competing against some of the best players in the country. The now sit top of the league after winning the last five in a row, scoring an astounding 25 goals without conceding any. This is the team that won the u16 National cup last year and this would be another piece of history for the lads. Title challengers Limerick FC can still take the title if Ramblers lose to Tralee at St.Colman’s Park next Sunday April 1st. Kick-off at 2.00pm
