Cobh ramblers u19 s had a great win recently against Carlow FC. Jason Abbott, Derek Keaney, Alan O’ Flynn, Josh Murphy and Daniel santry all scored in a five nil win.

The following week Rams. played a local derby v Cork City in the fai cup.Ramblers started very slow in the first 20 minutes and they gradually got into the game.In fact Ramblers should of scored just before half time when a cracker of a shot from Alan o Flynn was superbly saved from the City keeper.

The whole second half was dominated by Cobh. Dave Curran came the closet from scoring when the cork keeper made another great save. Cobh created five corners in the second half and really should of scored ,big Derek keaney had a great header cleared of the line.Cobh ramblers management new that they would regret those chances, and with 8 minutes left Cork City’s striker Danny Morissey found some room and scored the only goal in a won nil win.

This was a great performance from the Ramblers team considering most of the lads are all under age for next year. Cork City are top of the u19 premier league and looks like they will win the league. The Cobh ramblers next game was at home to Galway which Ramblers’ won 7-0

Congratulations to Cobh Ramblers star player Jason Abbott who was selected to play for the  Irish schools team in the Oscar training centre in Dublin on Friday 27th. This was a great honour considering that Jason has being out injured for ten weeks and is only back playing a short while.

Ireland were leading two one and looking good for the win, but two late goals by Australia gave them a three two win.

Abbott has represented his country in 2010 in Italy, 2011 in England and now 2012 in Ireland.
