The line up of events for Cobh People’s Regatta 2010 has been announced and promises to delight young and old. The regatta will run from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th August. The highlight as always will be the finale fireworks display on Sunday night.
Friday 13th Aug
3 – 5pm – Busking Competition – Traditional and Rock Bands play through out the Town.
7.30pm – Wheelbarrow Race – Drag wheelebarrow race from Colaiste Muire to main stage. Great fun with games and trials for all the teams.
8.35pm – Dance Mania
9.15pm – Offical Opening
9.30pm – Cobh Peoples Regatta Queen’s – The Queen contestants are interviewed by Councillor Michael Martin.
10.00pm – Ted Kramer – This Cork Band play an array of hits from the last four decades.
11.00pm – Festival Club in the Commodore Hotel – ‘Till Late with Club C and a Meatloaf Tribute Band in the Jack Doyle Room.
Sat 14th Aug
1.45pm – Firing of 1st Gun to start the Dinghy Sailing Programme.
2.30pm – Fancy Dress Parade Leaving the Well House to Promenade. Activities include Bouncy Castles, Clown, Face Painting etc. Fancy Dress Competition – Mini Queen Competition 8 to 12 yrs – Pretty Princess Competition 4 to 7 yrs – Mini King Boys 8 to 12 yrs – Handsome Prince 4 to 7 yrs
7.30pm – Jabba live on stage
9.00pm – Cobh’s own “The Big Band” live on stage
11.00pm – Festival Club in the Commodore Hotel ‘Till late with Club C and Bruce Springsteen Tribute band in the Jack Doyle Room
Sunday 15th Aug
1.30pm – Tug Of War
1.30pm – Firing of First gun to start Cruiser Sailing Programme at promenade Quay
2.30pm – Aerobatics Display
3.00pm – Children’s Crab Fishing Competition.
3.00pm – Live on Main Stage Arkadia
5.00pm – Aerobatics Display encore
6.00pm – Presentation of Sailing Prizes
6.30 pm – J&B Rox live on stage
6.45pm – Cobh Fishermen’s Trawler Race
8.15pm – Announcement of Regatta Queen.
9.00pm – Live on Stage Hot Guitars
10.00pm – Spectacular Fireworks Display by Happy Dragon Pyrotechnics (UK)
10.20pm – Hot Guitars live on stage
11.00pm – Festival Club in the Commodore Hotel ‘Till Late with Night Club C and AC/DC Tribute Band in the Jack Doyle Room.
