imageMany thanks to the 9 volunteers who joined with residents along Connolly Street to whitewash the old wall on Wednesday evening. It certainly was a case of many hands make light work and the wall looks bright and fresh again. 12 volunteers were out with Cobh Tidy Towns on Saturday. Some of us helped again with the whitewashing of the wall again along Connolly Street with residents from the area. Others swept the Promenade and the Lusitania monument. Cigarette butts and litter were swept all along Harbour Row. Bags of litter were gathered from the Preacher House steps. Such a beautiful part of town with stunning views and such a shame people discard litter here. The Burma steps were swept of broken glass, cans litter and leaves. Herbie Plummer helped out and spread stone mulch on the site beside the Sirius and the Navy pier. We placed a boat full of flowers there to brighten up the area.

Please keep up the great work maintaining outside your door clean and weed free and if the sun continues to shine don’t forget to water the pots, baskets and displays in abundance around Cobh. Join us on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm or Saturday mornings at 10am. All welcome.
