tidytowns600x4001The trojan work continued with 14 people out and about with Tidy Towns on Saturday. Work in the Sirius Garden carried on. The paving stones in the garden were power washed during the week and today Con O Brien helped out with his digger to prepare the ground on the far side of the Sirius. The raised flowerbed in the Promenade was cleaned out in preparation for some attractive planting. 4 bags of litter were collected from Kennedy Pier. A trailer full of mud and dried out seaweed was shovelled out from under the old boat trailers on the Camber by Kennedy Pier. This will be added to one of our volunteers composting areas. All along the quay by the Well House was swept and the volunteers made their way up East Hill collecting rubbish by Marinegate and the closed shop. 4 bags of litter were collected at the shop alone.

The roadsides were swept at the Velvet house cross and litter was picked a little way down Ballywilliam road.Thank you to the customer in the Heritage Centre today who paid for lunch for 3 of our volunteers. An unexpected treat! Thank you to everyone who helped out today and thank you to all who attended our AGM on Thursday night. 2013 will be a great year for Cobh with the drive, determination and dedication seen around our town.
