Published

on

This week more of the rusty railings were painted along the Five Foot Way.The pots at Whitepoint were planted with bulbs for the Spring, winter pansies and bedding plants.

Harbour Row,around the Cathedral and up to Top of the Hill were swept of leaves and litter. From Newtown to the hospital was picked of litter.Out at Carrigaloe the strand was cleaned of litter and some of the plants were cut back to prepare for new growth next year.We planted several bags of bulbs along the bank and the flower bed under the bridge to ensure a colourful approach to Cobh in the Spring.More bulbs were planted under the trees at Cows Cross so there will be a beautiful woodland scene there in the Spring

As the sun shone down some UCC students from Finland,Austria, Denmark and Sweden sat for their lunch on one of the benches at Cows Cross. They thought the area was beautiful! Now is a good time to plant up your tubs and beds with  Spring bulbs and there are plenty available in the shops at the moment. Thanks to our newest volunteers, students Evan and Laura, for coming along to help. Cobh Tidy Towns is delighted to announce that the Hawlbowline Theatre Group are performing the opening night of the hilious farce “Run for your wife” on 13th October and the proceeds will be donated to Cobh Tidy Towns.Tickets priced at €15 will be on sale shortly.

Meet us on Tuesday at 6.30pm or Saturday at 10am by the playground at the Five foot way if you have time to help Cobh Tidy Towns.
